B&G to The Fore

Last month, we kicked off our relationship with The Fore, delivering online workshops as part of their broader training programme for small to medium charities and community interest companies (CICs).    The first of these, Telling Your Story With Impact, is designed to help organisations tell a better story about their work by using their evaluation data.  Evaluation is obviously fundamental to this sector: to understanding where and how you are having most impact and demonstrating this to funders.  Yet understanding how best to extract and use this information well can be a challenge.

By drawing on our experience as charity leaders and using creative exercises, our aim was to provide useful tools and insights, to build the participants’ confidence in using evaluation as a way of communicating the missions of their organisations more effectively.   The feedback so far has been very positive and we were asked by The Fore to run more sessions of this workshop and to add another on Building Great Corporate Partnerships.   We think that new partnerships, particularly those between the charitable and business sectors are going to be a really important way that we negotiate the post-covid world.  Building Great Corporate Partnerships is a workshop that aims to give you some fundamentals in how to do this successfully. The initial dates for two rounds of both workshops sold out very quickly, but we have been able to schedule new sessions that are now available to book here via Eventbrite.

Building Great Corporate Partnerships All scheduled sessions for this workshop sold out rapidly. We will be scheduling new sessions in September. If you would like early notification of the new dates, please send an email to info@bandgpartners.com and we will let you know as soon as they are posted online.

The Fore supports innovative small to medium charities and CICs through a mixture of training, consultancy, networking and funding.   In response to the covid 19 crisis, it quickly repurposed its standard funding programme to provide emergency grants to the sector to help organisations sustain themselves through the immediate challenges.  The current funding round for this is now closed, but The Fore is also providing free support for organisations affected by the crisis through its RAFT Skilled Volunteer Programme. Please contact them direct for more information about this.

The crisis has made us make changes in how we do many things, and not all of those changes have been negative.  We redesigned our workshops so that they can be delivered online and we’ve immediately seen how this has meant more people can access them, where previously the time and money involved in travelling to them would have been prohibitive. In return, we’ve tried to maintain the interaction and creativity that we aim to bring to our “live” work. We hope to see you online soon. In the meantime, stay safe and stay connected.

“The workshop today was absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much, Gerald & Ben for your sound advice, giving us the space to reflect and really understand our words was very powerful . I heard stories retold in a heartfelt way that compelled me to hear what was being said, and really brought the story to life in a way which I have not heard retold that way before: very moving and hugely compelling. Your direction, your sound advice, your guidance and direction are second to none” – Tracey Ford, CEO, Jags Foundation CIC on Telling Your Story With Impact.
