The title of the workshop “Organisational Storytelling” had me rolling my eyes – how wrong I was. Ben and Gerald’s delivery of the three hour session was engaging, interactive and most importantly, inspiring. In my industry of film and TV, I'm constantly pitching ideas which are as much about selling the company as it is about the concept. They made me rethink how we present our organisation to the outside world, with the group feedback on our final task highlighting what was good, what was bad and, critically, what I could do better. And I began putting the lessons learned into practice immediately. Huge thanks to you both.

I worked with Ben as a mentor and coach on a couple of thorny problems which had come up as I moved into a stronger leadership position within two organisations. He brought fantastic listening skills, in a very non-judgemental way, as well as useful frameworks to help me work out what was going on and how to proceed. Each conversation was a positive mix of exploration, learning, suggestions and reflection, attached to a clear timeline of what needed to be achieved, which helped me to proactively take action. Overall, these conversations helped me to reorient my perspective on what was needed, for the organisations as well as myself, and create a much clearer pathway forward.

Ben and Gerald of B&G Partners created a series of bespoke storytelling workshops for our Culture and Creative Industries team at the GLA (Greater London Authority). I attended Ben and Gerald’s workshop, ‘Your Story Starts Here’, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. This workshop offered a safe, creative and supportive space to explore and develop the story of my work. I wanted to open up new ways of thinking and leave the workshop feeling clearer about my next steps; this workshop has helped me to do this. From the pre workshop questionnaire to the post workshop follow up call, I have felt supported to explore my understanding of my story, hear other people’s reflections upon it and begin the process of retelling it so that it supports me to move forwards.  Thank you both.  

My team at Live Theatre participated in a programme designed and delivered by Ben at a significant point of transition. Throughout this he responded with a sophisticated understanding and nuance of approach.  He supported a process of change for us, generously holding the space for us to dream, to imagine, and then to give it a go, equipped with the tools and the confidence to do so. Gerald Richards watered the seed of business in my mind. Joining the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) in high school, and with the help of individuals like Gerald, Jody Ewings, and William Wheat, business development and corporate planning were topics of interest to me at a young age. Still a young professional, I cannot emphasize enough how influential Gerald was in helping to kick start my business career, and priming my mind to envision business not only as a means to generate income, but also on a social and intrapersonal level of development as well. B & G’s work helped to focus our newly formed Creative Learning team and start the process of collaborative working. Through a series of targeted discussions and activities the team learned more about each other’s roles and their ambitions for their own work as well as the department as a whole. The Big Hairy Idea and the Pitch Deck exercises will prove really useful as we launch our new three-year strategy this year. The team found the whole process engaging and inspiring and we really look forward to interaction with B&G in the future.
